Aspen Private Advisors was founded to provide a different and superior alternative to traditional financial planning. Inspired by the interconnected root system of the aspen forest, trees that appear to be independent of one another are, in fact, all connected by their root system. Our team at Aspen believes that every area of your life is connected in one way or another. That is why we have made it our purpose to see the world through our clients' eyes and walk alongside them - providing increased confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.

Todd Dathe grew up in Rapid City, SD where his love for the outdoors and all its activities began. He met his wife Laura at the University of South Dakota where Todd earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Todd’s strong belief in the power of education led him to earn a Master of Science from Western Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. Todd’s passion for his work has kept him walking alongside his clients for over 20 years. He believes that it is his life’s calling to make a difference in the lives of the clients he serves.
Todd and Laura have three children, Jackson, Morgan, and Megan. Todd enjoys time outside including taking his family hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, exploring, biking, and skiing.

Jeremy Sorenson was raised on a family farm in Minnesota where he first began developing the skills he uses in his everyday work – entrepreneurial vision, planning, hard work, family, and adaptability. Jeremy strengthened his talents at Minnesota State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance and then went on to earn his Master of Business Administration at the University of South Dakota. To further his expertise, he became a Certified Financial Planner™. Jeremy is responsible for executing and refining the high-level aspects of Aspen and aligning technical components of clients’ financial plans with the realities and intricacies of their life.
Jeremy and his wife, Tracy, have four children. He is passionate about family travel, hiking, camping, running, cycling, and exploring new trails. During winter, he looks forward to skiing with family or friends. Jeremy serves the community as a member of the O’Gorman finance committee and Junior Achievement teacher. He previously served as chair of United Way Youth Development committee and chair of St. Katharine Drexel finance council.

Cara Beyer grew up on an acreage in rural Hartford, SD. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Economics at South Dakota State University where she also met her husband, Alex. Cara and Alex moved to Sioux Falls shortly after graduation to begin their careers. Cara has been a part of the Aspen team since the doors opened. Cara’s multi-faceted role has led her to become a Certified Financial Planner™ and our expert in many different areas of the financial planning process, including Social Security and retirement preparation. Cara goes above and beyond to help our clients feel prepared to enter their next phase of life.
Cara and Alex have three young children. As a family, they enjoy spending time outside, exploring nature, and keeping up with the kids.

Meghan Kramer is originally from a small town in northwestern Minnesota. She studied mathematics and finance at the University of Sioux Falls, earning her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Meghan joined the Aspen team in 2018. She has always enjoyed hearing people’s stories and ambitions, and in her role at Aspen, she gets to do just that.
Meghan and her husband, Nathan, are actively involved in their local church. She also serves as a member of the YoungLife Sioux Falls Area committee. She enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
